The first one sold out, so we’ve launched another… The Pegasus Experience 2024 – A weekend adventure in the heart of the beguiling Black Mountains

Join us for a weekend of adventure workshops, guest speakers and of course trail running. This isn’t a race. This is an experience. We’ll take care of everything for you! Including food and accommodation!

Don’t be fooled though. This weekend experience will make for great training with your Pegasus friends and family. Not one, but three trail runs / hikes will give you plenty of opportunity to stretch the legs in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.

Where will it take place? The Black Mountains – a place of myth, legend and bloody great running

This range of mountains are truly awesome and the routes we have planned will showcase some of the best views in the entire of the UK, let alone Wales. It’s where we live, it’s where we play, this is our back yard and we are going to show it to you over the course of a weekend. Highlights will include – Sugar Loaf Mountain, Dragons Back, Table Mountain, Grwyne Fawr, Mynydd Du Forest and a sprinkling of local view points.

Point of interest – Dragons Back Circular

Wild ponies roam the hills, livestock graze the land and a dragon lays sleeping beneath your feet – ladies and gentlemen we give you the Dragons Back of the Black Mountains. This circular route takes you over the ups and downs of this legendary ridge line with a summit of the second highest mountain in southern Britain and immense views of the Bannau Brycheiniog.

Weekend Schedule –

FRIDAY;

17:00 to 18:30 – Runner check in – Pegasus HQ Crickhowell

18:30 to 19:30 – Weekend overview and First Guest Speaker

19:30 to 20:30 – Get shoes on and go for a guided sunset hike with our Guest Speaker

20:30 to 22:00 – Pizza, get to know your fellow runners, ask questions to the experts and socialise

SATURDAY;

06:30 to 08:00 – Breakfast Served

08:00 to 09:30 – First Workshop – Navigation

09:30 to 14:30 – Guided trail run, 10 miles, 2,500ft elevation gain

14:30 to 15:30 – Lunch served at Pegasus HQ in Crickhowell

15:30 to 17:00 – Second Workshop – Foot care

17:00 to 19:00 – Get to know your fellow runners, social time

19:00 to 21:30 – Second Guest Speaker, dinner served and panel of trail running experts

21:30 to 22:30 – Get to know your fellow runners, ask questions to the experts and socialise

SUNDAY;

07:00 to 08:30 – Breakfast served

08:30 to 09:00 – Get shoes on, pick up your bags and head out on the trails

09:00 to 13:00 – Guided trail hike, 8 miles, 2,000ft elevation gain

13:00 to 14:00 – Best wishes and farewells

Who is this experience for?

This experience is for everyone and anyone. If you have a love for trail running, learning new skills and spending time with inspiring people then this experience is for you. It is great training for events you may have on the horizon. It is an excellent opportunity to work on your navigation skills. It is also a fantastic time for making new friends on the trails. Get out what you put in and we promise you a fun, friendly and all inclusive weekend of adventure in the beautiful Black Mountains.

What is the cost for the weekend experience and what is included?

The total cost for the Pegasus Experience is an early bird special of £235.00 until December 1st 2023. After this date the cost will go up to £265.00. Included in your entry fee will be THREE guided trail runs / hikes, TWO guest speakers doing inspirational talks, TWO adventure workshops on trail running skills, TWO nights of accommodation at our beautifully renovated farmhouse, breakfast (Saturday & Sunday), dinner (Friday & Saturday), lunch (Saturday), expert guides, Pegasus tshirt, experienced, dedicated and bloody awesome crew members plus race organisers who have been working in the industry since 2012.

What to expect once you sign up –

A friendly ‘welcome to the party’ (experience) email will be sent to the email address you registered with. Be sure to join the super duper Pegasus Community Group on Facebook here and get to know your fellow runner also attending – we promise they won’t bite!

The next time you will hear from us (directly) will be in the form of an email 6 weeks before the weekend. This email will have all the information you need to make the most of your experience.

Alas that isn’t the last communication – please keep an eye on your mobile for a phone call from our Race Director a couple of days before the experience is due to take place – don’t worry you haven’t done anything wrong, it’s a peace of mind call to make sure you are ready for the big weekend!
